A landing page and a video ad do the same job in different time. The page has as long as the visitor wants to scroll. The ad has about three seconds before a thumb moves on. Turning one into the other is mostly cutting: keep the hook, one proof and the offer, and drop the rest.

The 15 second structure

TimeSceneFrom your landing page
0 to 2 sHookYour headline, cut to its sharpest few words
2 to 8 sProofYour best product screen, with one line on what it does
8 to 12 sSecond proof or benefitAnother screen or a short benefit line
12 to 15 sOffer and call to actionYour button text and your address

For 6 second bumper slots, keep only the hook, one screen and the call to action.

Cut page copy into ad lines

Landing page copy is written to be read. Ad lines are glanced at. A useful rule: one line per scene, under eight words, and no line that needs the one before it to make sense.

Landing page lineAd line
"The all-in-one platform that helps finance teams send, track and collect invoices faster""Invoices that chase themselves"
"Get started free, no credit card required""Start free"

Keep any numbers or claims exactly as they appear on your page. If the page can back it up, the ad can say it.

Design for sound off

Most feed ads start muted. Put every important word on screen, keep text inside the safe area away from the edges where app buttons sit, and let music add pace rather than carry meaning.

Sizes for each placement

PlacementShape
Reels, Stories, TikTok, Shorts9:16
Meta and LinkedIn feeds1:1 or 4:5
YouTube and X16:9

Make the 9:16 version first. It's the hardest to fit, and the other shapes follow from it.

Make it from your landing page

Paste your landing page on Filmagic. It reads your headline, lines, colours, fonts and images, then builds the scenes and cuts them to music. Shorten the lines in the side panel, swap in your best screens, and export 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 from one edit. Selling a physical product? Start from a product page instead.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a video ad be?

15 seconds is a safe default for social placements, with a 6 second cut for bumper slots. Longer ads work when the first two seconds already hold attention.

Yes. The same headline, colours and offer on both makes the click feel continuous, which helps people stay once they land.

Do I need a voiceover?

No. Most viewers watch feed ads muted. On-screen lines and a clear product screen do the work.
