Video trimmer

Cut a video down to the part you want. Drag the start and end on the timeline, add a fade if you like, and export an MP4 at the original size, all in your browser.

How it works

  1. Pick your video. MP4, MOV or WebM. It stays on your device.
  2. Set the start and end. Drag the handles on the timeline, type the times, or set them at the playhead.
  3. Export the MP4. Same size and frame rate as your video, with a fade or without the sound if you like.

Tips for a clean cut

Frequently asked questions

How do I trim a video online?

Choose your video, drag the left handle to where the clip should start and the right handle to where it should end, then press Export trimmed MP4. Play the clip first to check the cut.

Is this video trimmer free?

Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no limit. Your video is cut in your browser and never uploaded.

Does trimming lower the quality?

The clip is encoded again in H.264 at a high bitrate, at the original size and frame rate, so it looks the same to the eye. Files can come out a little larger than the original.

Can I cut out the middle of a video?

This tool keeps one part, from a start to an end. To drop a part in the middle, export the first part and the last part as two clips.

Can I remove the sound from a video?

Yes. Set Sound to Remove the sound before you export. The video keeps its full length with a silent picture track only.

Which browsers does it work in?

A recent Chrome or Edge on a computer works best. Safari 16.4 and newer works too. WebM files take longer, because the browser reads them one frame at a time.
