## App preview sizes this tool makes

| Device slot | Portrait | Landscape |
| --- | --- | --- |
| iPhone 6.1 to 6.9 inch | 886 × 1920 | 1920 × 886 |
| iPhone 5.5 inch | 1080 × 1920 | 1920 × 1080 |
| iPad 11 to 13 inch | 1200 × 1600 | 1600 × 1200 |
| Mac | n/a | 1920 × 1080 |

Every file is H.264 in an MP4, at a constant 30 frames per second, with a stereo AAC sound track (your own sound or a silent one). Apple accepts 15 to 30 seconds and up to 500 MB per preview. Apple changes these from time to time, so check App Store Connect before you upload.

## Crop or fill?

- **Crop to fill** keeps the middle of your video and cuts the edges, so the picture fills the whole frame. Move the crop with the position sliders if your app sits off centre. This is the safest choice for review.
- **Fit with a background** shows the whole video and fills the gaps with a blurred copy of it or your brand colour. Use it when a crop would cut off text, like a landscape video going into a portrait slot.

> **Tip:** record your app in portrait on the largest iPhone you have. The crop to 886 × 1920 then only trims a sliver from each side.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is this App Store preview resizer free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit. The video is processed in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

### What size should an iPhone app preview be?

886 × 1920 for the iPhone 6.1 to 6.9 inch slot, which covers current iPhones, and 1080 × 1920 for the iPhone 5.5 inch slot. Landscape previews swap the two numbers.

### Why does App Store Connect refuse my preview?

The usual reasons are the wrong pixel size, a frame rate other than 30 fps, a length outside 15 to 30 seconds, or a missing or mono sound track. Files made here fix the size, frame rate and sound. Trim your clip to 15 to 30 seconds before you export.

### Does my app preview need sound?

Previews autoplay muted, so sound is optional for viewers. Some uploads are still refused without a stereo track, so this tool adds a silent stereo track when you pick no sound.

### Which browsers does it work in?

A recent Chrome or Edge on a computer works best. Safari 16.4 and newer works too. The tool needs WebCodecs, the browser feature that encodes video, and tells you if your browser lacks it.

### Can I make the preview video itself here?

This tool resizes a video you already have. To make one from your app's link and screenshots, with captions and music, use [Filmagic](https://filmagic.app/).
